There’s so much joy in looking at an amazing “exotic” animal but it is also a little sad that they are “faraway from home.” When we lived in New York we would sometimes visit the Bronx Zoo which has really great outdoor spaces for the animals… but still it felt artificial.
This haiku brings up both the joy and the guilt I feel when I look at animals in these environments. I like how you show the fence in the picture and the last line is nice “warm winter living.”
