    Lovely. I like the repetition of solitary here and “cottonwood” is just such a nice word.

    I liked the play with “solitary” too. I wasn’t totally alone. My dogs were with me, and I think the crow was actually watching them. I watched it as its head turned to follow my dogs running around the yard. But it looked at me, too. I feel like I twisted the truth a little for this haiku, but it works!
