Sigh. Another month,

another disappointment.

I hate telling him.

April is National Poetry Month and we’re celebrating!

Each Monday this month, we’re throwing out a topic and inviting readers to share haiku on the subject.

This week’s topic: Periods

Add your haiku as a comment. Let’s see how many we can collect! Oh, and there’s no time limit. Today, tomorrow, next week. We’ll take ‘em!

    No clue what’s in store
I’ll be the one to explain
    Much time until then

Apparently, I have a lot to say about periods. I couldn’t stop writing them. This may become a habit;)

    the Y chromosome
    also shows signs of
    Premenstrual Syndrome

    the cold bathroom floor
is so soothing to lie on
    five minutes each month

    chinese medicine
    doctors always ask if the
    color is bright pink

    Then:
    A period stops
    another month of hoping
    a new life will start.

    Now:
    It start again! Why?
When will the cycle of life
    decide I’m too old!

    Why must I still bleed
when there will be no children
    due to social norms

    I beseech Thee Lord-
Let my niece bear her children,
    Give up hope in me!

    Such finality
can be expressed with such a
    tiny little dot

    It ends. It’s over.
    No more. Finis. Adios.
    Goodbye. Period!

    Retire, my foe!
    You needn’t do anything!
    Bleed for me no more!

(I feel a bit like Poe)

    my last egg has dropped
    rush of blood a memory
    ‘mom’ glands atrophied.

    Period: A mark
    Indicating the end of
    A sentence or phrase.

    a sentence needs it
