Ah Alison…you and your feminist rants! : ) I have mine too, usually to do with cleaning.
Of course, anyone who knows both me and W knows that I am the infinitely more interesting and more brilliant of the two. I can’t claim the powerful part. I’m a bit of a weakling.
However, he does seem to need me to tell him how great and wonderful he is much more than I need him to tell me how fantastic I am. Which I take to mean that I am just that much more self confident, and therefore, that much more powerful (weight lifting aside).
Ta-da!
P.S. — Let’s hope W doesn’t read this. I’ll have to listen to lectures about how brilliant he is for days.
My feminist commentary of the day is -
a woman’s identity always seems to become an appendage of the “more interesting”, “more powerful” and “more brilliant” male identity.
Not saying anything about W, I’m just sayin’….
