It’s Valentines Day and at Haiku By Two we are celebrating with a contest.

Win a copy of the wonderful Love Haiku by Patricia Donegan. Simply compose your own love haiku and leave it in the comments. We’ll choose our favorite as the winner.

You have one week to write and share your love haiku. Because it’s wonderful to contemplate love, no? Can’t wait to see what you all come up with.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

    In love as a tree
Our roots touch where none can see.
    “But he’s Oak”, they say.

i’m not writing to win anything, like you guys said,
i just like reading, contemplating love, in its
    many forms and guises.
    also obvious obsessive haiku-er- duh

that said, please ignore-remove “his” in
    re-write # 9. should read “words - tender arrows”
i hate it when i notice bad count after
    posting! thanks.

    -New Family-
    We started with plants.
Raised them. Nurtured them. Loved them.
…. They grow up so fast.

    - in the end -

    all its myriad forms

one truth shining out, always -

    love is the answer.

Thank you, everyone. I just love this thread. I love seeing the different ways we experience love in this collection of haiku. And I love that this reminds me of Patricia Donegan’s book which kind of inspired this whole thing. Love shows itself in so many ways.

Congratulations to Samantha Baker for her winning wedding haiku (Haiku #15). What a beautiful moment expressed in haiku!
