Boys ARE very physical and girls are very verbal at a young age. So there are indeed differences. But I can't stand it when mothers get competitive about the gender of their child(ren). I would never think of making a negative generalization about boys esp. in terms of character. Little boys and little girls are both so wonderful and beautiful.

So it took me days to come up with a good response to this woman who waxed on about her boys and complimented the girls as being "cute" with "pretty clothes" but "mean". At the library I just muttered "lovely". But a better response would have been to tell her that girls pick up language quicker than boys. And that my two and a half year old daughter understood everything she just said.

Little boys have their own downfalls....After hanging out with my nephew I know exactly what that is: they never stop moving! They are exhausting! Can't they just be still for a little bit??
