the heat of July –

we’ve come to expect nightly

tree frogs at our door

    Ah, more tree frogs! The haiku start to connect as we visit the same seasons again, don’t they? A lovely thing about haiku. Developing a long lasting relationship with nature and the seasons.

    We don’t get so many tree frogs where I live but when I happen upon them I find them completely adorable.

    This isn’t the first time this year I’ve found myself remembering haiku from last year when I go to write new haiku. It is interesting to notice how I pay attention to the same little details again and again. It makes me wonder which details I’m missing…
