he falls asleep but

I’m cold under one blanket —

the year moves forward

    Oh, this is how B feels… I always fall asleep well before him due to exhaustion. But then he is left alone. The break and last line work well here. Yes, the years move forward. Marriage has so many different textures it’s amazing.

    So interesting how you took this. When I wrote it, I wasn’t thinking about making any sort of statement on marriage at all. I was thinking this was a haiku about the seasons changing and that the statement that I was cold under one blanket was my kigo.
