Living in the Midwest, I don’t often get the chance to chill at the beach and watch the waves hit the shore. But there is something very hypnotic about it all. Even the calls of the gulls — they don’t break the lure of the waves but instead enhance it.

I agree. I visit the sea shore often and I find the sound of the waves and seagulls to be very soothing and a source of inspiration.

This is such a universal haiku. So many people are drawn to the ocean and when I visit the ocean I often stand in amazement at how instantaneously soothing it is. I also like how you group yourself with the seagulls. Humans and seagulls, such different animals who are both drawn to the ocean.
