.

.

.

Suddenly my state

is filled with Republicans -

Oh, the primaries!

.

I wonder which one

will win the nomination?

I am “Undeclared”.

.

An Undeclared is

our version of an Indy.

We wait, watch and wait.

.

We also wait for

snow, teasing us by falling

and melting away.

..

Instead we feel spring

in January, oh joy!

The debate heats up.

.

The night brings the cold

but when we wake I hope

.

Philly then New York,

Arizona, Alaska

and Argentina.

.

Now it’s New Hampshire

and my home is everywhere

and nowhere at once.

.

This bright green landscape

blurry with the pounding rain -

“I’m Coming Home” plays.

.

I miss everyone,

I miss everywhere even

the place I’m standing.

.

My neighbor’s red roof

these puffs of Hydrangea -

Oh, how familiar!

Merry Christmas to You and Your Family!

drive to Grandma’s house

.

now I have a girl -

is the way it works

now grandma’s in Florida

sister lives down south

.

we live out our dreams

up north in New Hampshire but

something is missing

.

still we are happy

to raise our girl amongst trees

ocean, farms and fields

.

Whatever form your

family takes I wish you

a Merry Christmas!
